Ingredients
- 1kg (2.5lbs) pork (boston butt, pork belly, pork neck, loin roast)
- 18 tbsp (1 bottle) Char Siu Sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- oil
Instructions
(The day before)
- Slice the pork into strips about 1" x 2"
- Combine 9 tbsp char siu with 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Poke holes in the pork strips and toss in bag with marinade for 4-48 hours
(The day of)
- Pre-heat oven to 275F
- Prepare basting sauce: 9 tbsp char siu sauce with 3 tbsp of honey
- Place marinated pork strips on roasting tray
- Air should be able to circulate underneath
- Roast for 60 minutes, flipping and basting every 15 minutes
- Broil under high for 2 minutes on each side
- Give a final baste with char siu sauce and oil
- (Ideally hanging) let rest 30-45 minutes before chopping
- Note: I also just serve after a rest
